In this workshop, students learnt about variable font technology as an experimental animation tool. Interpolation Escalation! We started typographic systems, designed letterings and, above all, interpolated back and forth. In a mix of digital and analogue sketches, students came up with ideas for variable fonts exploring the intersection of readability, modularity, movement and math.
